Dehradun, 19 Jul: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched the ‘Shine Avi Learning Inclusive Education Mission 2030’ on Sunday at a private hotel on Rajpur Road, here. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also released various books and learning materials based on the Visual Learning Curriculum for Special Children.
The Chief Minister stated that the Shine Avi Learning initiative is an important step towards making education more accessible, effective, and inclusive. He added that the Central and State governments have always given top priority to education. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has implemented the National Education Policy-2020 in the country, which aims to empower children to learn, understand, think, innovate, and advance in life with confidence.
The Chief Minister stated that the State Government is continuously working in the field of education. Smart classes, ICT labs, PM Shri Vidyalayas, Atal Utkrisht Vidyalayas, digital learning materials, and science and innovation-based education are being promoted in the state. To ensure inclusive education reaches every child, the government has strengthened school facilities such as ramps, railings, accessible toilets, adapted furniture, and clean drinking water.
The Chief Minister stated that approximately 5,800 children with special needs are enrolled in schools at various levels in the state. More than 1,300 children are being provided with specialized education and rehabilitation facilities through 11 government-run special schools. He stated that more than 300 special educators have been appointed at the elementary and secondary levels, and the process is underway to fill the remaining vacant positions.
The Chief Minister stated that our goal is to ensure inclusive and quality education, enabling every child in the state to reach their full potential and contribute to building a new India. We must prepare our children not just for exams, but for life.
Congratulating educator Anita Sharma and the entire team of Shine Avi Learning, the Chief Minister said that Anita has innovated in the field of education in Uttarakhand by reverse migrating from abroad. He stated that this initiative sets an example for other migrants. The Chief Minister said that, in recent years, many migrants have expressed a desire to return to their villages and work, and many are doing so. He emphasised that all have to preserve heritage and advance civilisation. The Chief Minister stated that the state of Uttarakhand embraces people from across India. The people of the state value a person’s thinking and actions. Despite numerous challenges, the state has consistently progressed on the path of development. The people of Uttarakhand have always inspired the government to move forward.
He added that the state has set an example for the entire country in many ways. The Uniform Civil Code was implemented in the state for the first time. Uttarakhand ranked first in the list of Sustainable Development Goals. The state government has also taken strong decisions, such as strict anti-copying laws.
MLA Munna Singh Chauhan, Additional Secretary Banshidhar Tiwari, Vice Chairman of the Media Advisory Committee Dhirendra Panwar, Anita Sharma, Ramesh Bhatt, Sudhir Nautiyal, PC Nainwal, Manoj Pant, and others were present on the occasion.
