Pithoragarh, 20 Jun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has extended his greetings to the people of the state on International Yoga Day. In his message issued on the eve of International Yoga Day, the Chief Minister said that Yoga is a valuable gift of the country’s ancient heritage which helps in increasing the mental and physical strength of man and increasing spiritual energy. He observed that regular Yoga practice plays a special role in reducing stress, keeping life balanced and achieving difficult goals. He said that Yoga is an identity of India’s oldest and rich tradition. This is an important gift of the country’s sages to the whole humanity. Through Yoga practice, one can remain physically and mentally healthy.
The Chief Minister said that through Yoga, India’s unique identity has been created in the world today. The world is looking towards India for Yoga. Yoga has also given the message of health to the country and the world. The Chief Minister said that Yoga has paved the way for happiness and peace of man. The great sage Patanjali has shown the way to live to the people through Yoga. The ultimate goal of every human being is to attain happiness and peace, in which Yoga plays a major role.
The Chief Minister said that to keep both the body and mind healthy, benefits can be obtained by regularly including Yogasanas in the daily life routine. He stated that due to the far-sighted thinking of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it is a matter of pride for the countrymen that Yoga has been recognised at the international level today. Due to the meaningful efforts of the Prime Minister, Yoga has reached the masses today. In the third historic term of Prime Minister Modi, this year the 10th International Yoga Day is being organized on 21 June 2024 with the motto “Yoga for self and society”.
The Chief Minister said that the basic foundation of our glorious Sanatan culture is “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”. He added that despite facing many global challenges and conspiracies, India has never deviated away from human values and the concept of public welfare.
Dhami reminded that on the occasion of International Yoga Day, the main programme in the state will be organised at Parvatikund Adi Kailash in district Pithoragarh. Along with this, Yoga Day programmes will be organised in all the district headquarters of the state and in 300 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs.
