Vikas Nagar, 23 Jul: On completion of two years of Himalaya Mountain Sports Academy, an annual celebration was organised at Saraswati Vidya Mandir, New Yamuna Colony, Dakpathar, at which the players taking training in Kabaddi gave an excellent performance.
On this occasion, State General Secretary of Uttarakhand Krida Bharti, Bharat Chauhan said that at a time when the youth are getting attracted to drugs, it is a commendable effort of the academy to motivate them to play in the sports field. He said that he tried every evening to go to some sports field and encourage the players so that they remain healthy and stay away from addiction.
He said that most of the players in the academy are participating from remote rural areas of Jaunsar Bawar.
Himalaya Mountain Sports Academy coach and national Kabaddi player Ajay Nautiyal said that more than 25 players from the academy have played at the national level through Kabaddi Federation of India, Kabaddi Mahakumbh, Vidya Bharati Sports Council, etc. There are many players who are playing at the state level. He said that girls in the academy also take training in Kabaddi with the same zeal and enthusiasm as the boys. And the number of players coming to the academy regularly is increasing.
