Gairsain, 22 Aug: Congress leaders including the party MLAs today staged a protest in Bhararisain against the Narendra Modi Government on the issue of the Hindenburg report on the stock markets in the country. In addition, the Congress leaders in Dehradun also held a protest against the Centre for the same reason.
Even before the second day of the monsoon session of the State Assembly could begin in the House underway in Bhararisain, there was a ruckus outside the House. All the opposition MLAs were seen mobilised on the Hindenburg report. Opposition MLAs staging the dharna outside the Bhararisain Assembly building claimed that new revelations are constantly being made regarding the stock markets by Hindenburg. They claimed that cases against various government agencies like SEBI and their officers being involved in corruption are coming to the fore. These revelations indicated that the Modi Government is deeply involved in major corruption. They claimed that the Opposition will continue raising its voice on the issue.
Congress MLA Sumit Hridayesh claimed that the BJP governments in the state as well at the Centre are deeply steeped in corruption. He stated that questions are constantly being raised on the role of government agencies in the Hindenburg case. In such a situation, the BJP, which wears the cloak of decency and integrity has been completely exposed. Congress MLA from Khatima, Bhuwan Kapri claimed that the BJP government’s policy has been framed with the objective of looting the common people and benefiting the rich. He said that an example of this is the Hindenburg report, through which the truth of the government has been exposed. He added that the government agencies are being misused and asserted that the country will not tolerate this at all. Apart from this, the MLAs of the opposition said that they will raise their voice on issues like corruption even in the House.
In addition, the Congress leaders also staged a demonstration in Dehradun on the same issue. Here, Congress activists demonstrated by gheraoing the Enforcement Directorate office. The Congress party’s Halla Bol demonstration was held at the countrywide call of the All India Congress Committee under the leadership of the party’s state president Karan Mahara.
In the morning, all the Congressmen gathered at the Congress state headquarters. After that, they took out a march on foot and reached the ED office located at Cross Road. The police had ensured heavy barricades to prevent the Opposition leaders from reaching the Office. However, Congressmen climbed the barricades and shouted slogans against the central government. During this, Congressmen accused the government of misusing ED and CBI. Former cabinet minister Harak Singh Rawat, former state president Ganesh Godiyal, Congress leader Ranjit Rawat and many other leaders from other districts participated in the Congress party’s protest. Meanwhile, the party’s state president Karan Mahara, while targeting the government, claimed that the BJP’s Central Government has been misusing central agencies like ED and the CBI against opposition leaders, but the file of anyone who joins the BJP is mysteriously closed. This government is misusing the agencies. He said that the Congress will not accept this at all.
Mahara stated that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is constantly vocal against the government, but as a reaction, the central agencies have begun also investigating him. Attempts are being made to intimidate him through central agencies. Mahara claimed that, in the report that has been released recently by Hindenburg, allegations have been made against a big group and the SEBI chief with evidence. But, instead of taking immediate action, the government is busy saving the industrialist concerned. He said that crores of rupees of lakhs of people were lost in the stock market, people have the right to know who is responsible for it.
