Uttaranchal University shooters shine in 22nd State Shooting Competition

Dehradun, 27 Aug: Shooters from Uttaranchal University who displayed their skills in the 22nd Uttarakhand State Shooting Competition-2024 were given a grand welcome at the University, here, today. A total of 7 medals, including one gold medal and two silver medals, were bagged by Uttaranchal University.

Yash Joshi got the Gold Medal in the 50-metre air pistol event, while silver medals were won in the 25-metre Centre Fire pistol and 25-metre standard fire pistol events. Anshuman Singh got the bronze medal in the 25-metre Centre Fire pistol event and in 25-metre standard fire pistol event. Aniruddh Singh got a bronze medal in the 25-metre Center Fire pistol event and 25-metre standard fire pistol event.

The President of the University, Jitendra Joshi, gave a grand welcome to the shooters by garlanding them. He said the shooters have brought laurels to themselves and the university by securing their place in the state-level competition. He reiterated his commitment to the necessary priorities and facilities for talented sportspersons in the university.

On this occasion, the Vice-President of the university, Ankita Joshi, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dharm Buddhi, Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof Rajesh Bahuguna, Dean of Student Welfare Prof Shravan Kumar, and Sports Officer Shiva Malik along with Deans, Directors, Principals and Heads of Departments of the university were also present.
