Every research model has its flaws, yet some provide valuable insights: Dr Amit Upadhyay

Dehradun, 8 Jan: On the second day of a 12-day capacity building programme jointly hosted by Doon University and the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, sponsored by ICSSR, New Delhi, participants experienced a series of dynamic sessions aimed at enhancing their research skills.

The day began with a session led by Dr Amit Upadhyay, Assistant Professor at IIT Roorkee. Dr Upadhyay, who specialises in research design and sampling, used practical examples to help participants gain a hands-on understanding of these essential research components. His ability to simplify complex concepts was highly appreciated by the attendees.

The morning sessions concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr Sudhanshu Joshi, the course director, acknowledging Dr Upadhyay’s valuable contributions.

After lunch, the programme continued under the leadership of Professor Rajat Agarwal from IIT Roorkee, who conducted a thorough discussion on theoretical frameworks. Professor Agarwal guided the participants through the development of effective research questions and the structuring of research processes. His session highlighted the importance of establishing a strong foundation for academic inquiry and aligning research objectives with actual field conditions.

Professor HC Purohit, Dean of the School of Management, extended a vote of thanks to Professor Agarwal for enlightening the participants, marking a successful conclusion to the day’s sessions.
