Dehradun, 2 Feb: Police today removed wrongly parked vehicles from the roadside here after instructions of the SDM to this effect. This action was taken mainly to improve the traffic system in the city and to ensure road safety.
The vehicles parked on the roadside in Mussoorie were causing traffic obstructions, occupying a large part of the road. This caused problems in the movement of vehicles and resulting traffic jams. Many times, accidents also occurred. The cleanliness and beautification of the city was also getting affected.
The police took action and removed these disorderly vehicles parked on the roadside. Mussoorie Kotwal Arvind Chaudhary said that, to reduce the chaos on the road, the main objective of the administration is to keep the roads of Mussoorie clean and organised, so that both tourists and locals do not face any problems. Efforts are being made by the administration to ensure that no one violates the rules for parking. The police have been asked to keep a regular watch. Local people said that the administration should arrange for alternative parking facilities to deal with the problem. People should be given clear and organised places for parking.
