59 lakh Ayushman Cards Issued in state: Dr Dhan Singh Rawat

Dehradun, 12 Mar: So far, 59.34 lakh Ayushman cards have been issued in the state, benefiting more than 14 lakh people under the scheme. The government has spent Rs 2,688 crore to provide free healthcare services through Ayushman Bharat. To ensure that no resident of Uttarakhand is deprived of this facility, the government has set a target of issuing 100% Ayushman cards in the state.

Health and Medical Education Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat stated that the state government is continuously working to strengthen healthcare services and make medical facilities more accessible to the common people. He mentioned that the State Health Authority, which oversees the Ayushman scheme, has ensured that people are availing the benefits effectively.

According to Dr Rawat, as of now, 59,34,076 Ayushman cards have been issued across various districts – Almora: 2,98,246; Bageshwar: 1,30,670; Chamoli: 2,26,919; Champawat: 1,44,851; Dehradun: 11,87,068; Haridwar: 10,01,706; Nainital: 5,75,810; Pauri Garhwal: 4,21,711; Pithoragarh: 2,55,837; Rudraprayag: 1,36,012; Tehri Garhwal: 3,53,749; Udham Singh Nagar: 10,03,902; Uttarkashi: 1,97,595.

Additionally, 14,09,251 people have received free treatment under the scheme, distributed across districts as follows – Almora: 41,699; Bageshwar: 19,666; Chamoli: 52,476; Champawat: 26,294; Dehradun: 3,56,880; Haridwar: 2,53,295; Nainital: 1,24,600; Pauri Garhwal: 1,13,122; Pithoragarh: 46,588; Rudraprayag: 31,794; Tehri Garhwal: 78,504; Udham Singh Nagar: 2,18,261; Uttarkashi: 46,072.

The government has spent Rs 2,688.09 crore on treatments under the Ayushman scheme so far. Dr. Rawat further stated that continuous awareness campaigns are being conducted to ensure 100% Ayushman card coverage. The health department is actively monitoring the initiative, ensuring that all medical units in the districts facilitate Ayushman card registration.

To address gaps, a special campaign will soon be launched in rural areas to ensure that those who have not yet received their Ayushman cards can register and avail themselves of the benefits.
