Soldiers guarding our borders are pride of nation: Pushkar Singh Dhami

CHAMPAWAT, 11 May: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the 57th Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) located at the India-Nepal border in Banbasa on Sunday. On this occasion, he met with SSB officers and personnel.
The Chief Minister lauded the unwavering courage, dedication, and discipline of the SSB personnel, stating that the soldiers posted at the borders are the pride of the nation. He emphasized that maintaining vigilance along the India-Nepal border is of utmost importance and that the state government is working in full coordination with the central government and security agencies to ensure this. He added that, with the support of our security forces, the borders are fully secure and their protection remains a top priority.
CM Dhami reviewed the infrastructure, communication facilities, and other amenities available at the border outposts and directed officials to implement necessary improvements.
He highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of recognizing border villages like Mana as “First Villages” of the nation, symbolizing the cultural and geographical identity of India. He expressed his gratitude to all the personnel deployed in protecting these villages and borders.
During the visit, the Chief Minister held discussions with the soldiers, learning about their experiences, challenges, and on-ground realities.
Condemning Pakistan-sponsored terrorism, CM Dhami called the recent attack in Pahalgam cowardly and commended the Indian Army and security forces for giving a strong and fitting response. He said that the unity and nationalism shown by the people during such times are more powerful than any weapon.
The Chief Minister extended his greetings to all armed and security forces and saluted their dedication to serving the nation.
Present on the occasion were SSB DIG Amit Sharma, Champawat District Magistrate Navneet Pandey, Udham Singh Nagar District Magistrate Nitin Bhadoriya, SSP Udham Singh Nagar Manikant Mishra, SP Champawat Ajay Ganpati, and other SSB officers and dignitaries.
