Dehradun, 10 Jun: District Magistrate Savin Bansal has expressed strong displeasure over the failure of the Municipal Corporations, the Municipal Councils, and Nagar Panchayats in the district in submitting the Aadhaar verification reports for contractual labourers engaged in solid waste management, street light maintenance, and other essential services. He instructed these local bodies to ensure the submission of reports to the Secretary, Home, Government of Uttarakhand, today.

It may be recalled that following directions from the state government, the DM had issued instructions on 18 May for the submission of verification reports. Additional District Magistrate KK Mishra stated that the reports have not yet been received, terming this delay as a serious lapse in administrative responsibility. The DM has now issued fresh orders, mandating all local bodies to submit the verification reports immediately.

Bansal asserted that Aadhaar verification is mandatory for all contractual workers across all the government departments. This initiative aims to authenticate their identity, ensure regulatory compliance, and enable access to government schemes and benefits. He urged the Municipal Corporations, the Municipal Councils, and the Nagar Panchayats to take prompt action and ensure timely submission of verification reports today.
