DEHRADUN, 27 Apr: Nainital: A pall of gloom descended upon the Nainital District Court complex today after the body of an advocate was discovered inside his car parked on the premises. The deceased, identified as Puran Singh Bhakuni, was an advocate affiliated with the Nainital District Court. His untimely death has sent shockwaves through the local legal fraternity. Panic erupted in the city when legal practitioners walking through the District Bar parking area spotted a blood stained body inside a vehicle, prompting immediate alarm among the staff, fellow advocates, and other people present at the location. The Police were promptly alerted, and upon arriving at the scene, they confirmed the presence of a body with a pistol in hand, leading investigators to treat the incident, prima facie, as a case of suicide. The body of Puran Singh Bhakuni has been sent for further legal formalities and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death is currently underway.
The incident, which occurred at the collectorate complex today, has left the colleagues and the employees in a state of profound distress. Puran Singh Bhakuni, a resident of Long View Compound, was widely regarded for his affable nature, making the news of his tragic end particularly devastating to those who have worked alongside him. The discovery was made during regular working hours at the collectorate and district court premises. At approximately 11:30 am, advocates passing through the parking lot found Puran Singh Bhakuni inside the vehicle, soaked in blood. A large crowd gathered at the site as news of the tragedy spread, and police teams arrived shortly thereafter to secure the area and initiate inquiries. The police team has recovered a note from the dashboard of the vehicle, in which the deceased has reportedly mentioned being distressed due to a persistent illness. The local authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter to ascertain all relevant details.
