DEHRADUN, 24 Jan:  The BJP members have raised serious allegations of booth capturing and voters intimidation during the municipal elections held on Thursday (January 23), in Ward No. 41, Indira Nagar, Dehradun. The party members went over to SSP office and called for strict action and submitted evidence to support their claims.
On Friday, Manoj Kumar Gupta, a BJP member and resident of Indiranagar, filed a written complaint with the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP). He alleged that a group of 40-50 individuals disrupted the voting process by entering polling booths in groups, intimidating voters, and influencing votes in favor of a particular candidate. The BJP members claimed they had video and photographic evidence of the incident. They submitted this evidence to the police and demanded a legal case be registered against the accused. They also urged the police to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter. In this matter, the police officials assured that the matter would be investigated impartially, without favoring any political party. “A free and fair inquiry is underway, and appropriate action will be taken based on the findings,” a police representative said.
