BSNL CGM Alok Jaimal calls on Gov

Dehradun, 5 August: Alok Jaimal, the newly appointed Chief General Manager (CGM) of BSNL, made a courtesy call on Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) at the Raj Bhawan here on Monday and provided information about the current activities and plans of BSNL.

Lt Gen Singh welcomed Alok Jaimal and wished him all the best for his new responsibility. He said that BSNL plays an important role in expanding communication services in remote and rural areas of the state. The present era is the era of communication revolution, and it is the duty of all to provide good communication facilities to the people of the country and the state at an affordable cost. The Governor said that, through the communication revolution, any corner of the world can be contacted sitting at home. He spoke about making continuous efforts towards making the services of BSNL more effective.

Alok Jaimal discussed various initiatives being taken by BSNL in the state. He told the Governor that BSNL is committed to expanding and improving communication services in Uttarakhand. BSNL is working under “Bharat Net” and 4G saturation schemes to provide fast and reliable internet services even in rural and remote areas. Along with this, he also gave information about the initiatives being taken under the Digital India campaign in the state.

BSNL General Managers Vijay Pal and Sumit Kumar and other senior officials were also present on this occasion.
