Dehradun, 5 Aug: BJP has reacted strongly to the statements issued by Congress leaders on the short duration of the upcoming Monsoon session of State Assembly from 21 August in Gairsain. State BJP President Mahendra Bhatt today said that the issue of a short assembly session being raised by the Congress is just a pretext being used to criticise the government. He added that this part of the negative politics is done only for the purpose of opposition. Bhatt reminded that the Opposition leaders are in a habit of staging walkout from the assembly at the slightest pretext and therefore their opposition to the short session is not justified. Bhatt was responding to the questions of the media persons during an informal chat with them through various mediums.
Bhatt targeted those who always opposed the creation of the state and its development, and those who do not want the session to be held in Gairsain. They are raising the issue of the session. He also suggested that instead of doing politics, Congress should prepare for the session otherwise even a single day of the House will prove to be big for their MLAs.
Responding to questions asked by the media, he said that those whose MLAs used to write letters earlier to not hold the session in Gairsain have made a U-turn only to indulge in politicising every issue.
Bhatt claimed that the Congress members start every assembly session with uproar and end it with uproar. For them, the session does not mean raising the issues of the common people but creating a topic of discussion in the media by creating ruckus and staging walkouts. He added that the activities of the Congress party and its MLAs in the House are in front of everyone. They have never played a role in raising the problems of the common people, discussing important issues and playing a constructive role in the House. Today they say that the duration of the session is short but when the session is in progress, they do not let the House function by creating ruckus and walkouts. He suggested that it will be better that the Congress makes full preparations for the session otherwise even one day will prove to be too much for the issueless and thoughtless Congress MLAs.
