DEHRADUN, 24 Oct: Vitality and fervour was at its peak, today, as Convent of Jesus and Mary celebrated its 119th Annual Day Function with an invigorating cultural event. Maj Gen C Nandwani (Retd) and Air Commodore Amul Kapoor (Retd) were the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour, respectively. Along with the Principal, Sr Greta and the Manager, Sr Rose George, distinguished dignitaries including the Principals of various schools and Parents graced the occasion. The event acted as a platform to showcase the creative talents of CJMites who managed to put on a spectacular show without any professional guidance. The dance performances, ‘Dreamers of Disneyland’ and ‘The Divine Doon” to live singing won over one and all. The highlight of the event was a Hindi play, ‘Darpan’, based on the voice of conscience. It was followed by the visual presentation of the annual report and a short movie, ‘A Spirited CJMite’. The meritorious students were also awarded for their stellar academic performances. The Chief Guest inspired the students with his motivating speech. The successful execution of the event was the result of the relentless efforts of the teachers coupled with the unstinted support of the Principal, Sr Greta D’Souza.
