Dehradun, 23 Jul: A presentation was given before Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, today, related to the action plan for the newly formed State Institute for Empowering & Transforming Uttarakhand (SETU) Aayog at the Secretariat here. After the presentation, the Chief Minister directed that the Aayog should make an effective policy for the coming 2 years. He also insisted that special attention should be given by the Aayog towards skill development and self-employment generation.
Dhami said that efforts should be made that the youth of the state do not have to migrate out of the state for employment. Special attention should be paid towards simplification of skill development plans. The Chief Minister said it should be ensured that whatever action plan is being made, is fully visible on the ground in the next two years. He directed the officials to work on development plans in accordance with geographical conditions for the development of each district.
The CM said that the purpose of the formation of the SETU Aayog is to make strong and robust policies in the state, to implement the schemes effectively, to develop an effective work culture, to implement the schemes while maintaining a balance between development and environment and effectively monitor the schemes. The Commission should work on schemes in which the overall development of the state remains a top priority. He asserted that all departments work with result orientation and good governance based action plans.
Dhami said that the schemes should be promoted through various mediums so that the last person standing can get full benefit of the schemes. Simple methods should be adopted for promotion. If necessary, a user-friendly portal and applications should also be made. Technology should be used as much as possible so that the general public knows about their schemes. He said that work should also be done on creating a data ecosystem in the state, so that it is easy to assess the schemes and the outcome of the departments can also be monitored.
Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, Vice President, SETU Aayog, Rajshekhar Joshi, Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram, Additional Secretary Dr Vijay Kumar Jogdande and Manoj Pant of the Planning Department were present on this occasion.
