Development projects worth Rs 110 Cr dedicated to Pauri District

Pauri, 16 Jun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, during his visit to Pauri Garhwal district on Monday, inaugurated the Dr Ambedkar District Science Museum, developed by the district administration on Srinagar Road, and also inaugurated the Kandoliya Mahotsav held at Ramlila Ground. On the occasion, he dedicated 19 development projects worth Rs110.55 crore to the district, including the foundation laying of 14 projects and the inauguration of five completed projects.
The Chief Minister formally inaugurated the District Science Museum and reviewed the science-based activities and experiential learning facilities established there. He appreciated the efforts being made to promote scientific thinking and innovation among students. During his visit, he examined interactive models, scientific exhibits, and modern equipment based on various scientific principles.

Students from various schools explained the scientific displays installed in the museum. The children appeared enthusiastic during their interaction with the Chief Minister. He also actively participated in several demonstrations and observed exhibits related to science, space, energy, environment, and technological innovation. He remarked that such science museums play an important role in nurturing curiosity, a spirit of research, and a scientific temperament among children.
The Chief Minister stated that the District Science Museum is not merely an exhibition venue but will serve as a modern centre for science education and innovation for students and youth. He said that children would be able to understand science not only through textbooks but also through practical experiments and interactive activities. He expressed confidence that the museum would emerge as an important centre of knowledge, curiosity, and innovation for students of the district and would make a significant contribution to the development of scientific awareness.
Later, the Chief Minister offered prayers at the Kandoliya Temple and prayed for the happiness, prosperity, and well-being of the people of the state. He subsequently inaugurated the Kandoliya Pauri Mahotsav at the Ramlila Ground. On this occasion, he announced that the Kandoliya Mahotsav would be developed as a State Fair under the government’s official festival programme.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that the Kandoliya Mahotsav is a powerful platform for promoting Uttarakhand’s rich cultural heritage, folk traditions, and young talent. He noted that a new chapter had been added to the district’s development journey with the inauguration and foundation laying of 19 development projects worth approximately Rs 110 crore. These projects, he said, would strengthen infrastructure and bring positive changes to the lives of the people.
The Chief Minister stated that, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttarakhand is progressing by simultaneously preserving its heritage and advancing development. The Char Dham Yatra continues to set new milestones, with millions of devotees having already undertaken the pilgrimage. He said that the State Government is committed to ensuring that development reaches even the remotest areas of the hills and is effectively implementing initiatives such as House of Himalayas, the One District–Two Products Scheme, the Millet Mission, the new Tourism and Film Policy, self-employment programmes, and homestay schemes.
Emphasising the government’s commitment to youth welfare, the Chief Minister noted that Uttarakhand has enacted the country’s strictest anti-copying law to protect the interests and future of young people. Over the past four years, more than 33,000 government jobs have been provided with complete transparency.
The Chief Minister further stated that protecting Uttarakhand’s Sanatan culture, original identity, and social harmony remains among the government’s highest priorities. With this objective, important measures such as the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), Anti-Conversion Law, Anti-Riot Law, and a stringent Land Law have been implemented.
Referring to ongoing development initiatives in Pauri and Srinagar, he highlighted projects including the state’s first NCC Academy, the NIT campus, the Ganga Culture Centre, the Singtali Bridge, widening of the Pauri–Srinagar road, lake development projects, a driving test track, and sports infrastructure projects. He said these initiatives would provide a new direction to regional development while enhancing employment opportunities and tourism potential.
The programme was attended by MLAs Rajkumar Pori and Dalip Singh Rawat, District Panchayat Chairperson Rachna Butola, Municipal Chairperson Himani Negi, Block Pramukh Asmita Negi, Gau Seva Commission Chairman Pt Rajendra Anthwal, District Magistrate Swati Bhadauria, SSP Sarvesh Panwar, CDO Ashok Joshi, along with other public representatives and officials.
