DEHRADUN, 10 Oct: Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat inaugurated a workshop organised at Parmarth Niketan, Rishikesh, on economic and social change through the Gram Panchayat Development Programme (GPDP) for the Himalayan states on Thursday. Chief Minister Rawat said there was a lot of geographical similarity among the Himalayan states. This kind of thinking by the Himalayan states for the development of Panchayats would definitely have positive results in the coming days. By organising such a workshop, information will be shared among public representatives. It would also inspire them to work with each other. Officers of various departments related to Panchayati Raj would give information on Panchayati Raj works. Such workshops will give a new dimension to the development of villages. Rawat added that people had great expectations from the public representatives on the development of villages and society. He said that some public representatives were doing commendable work. It was also important to have good thinking along with the passion to work for the public.
