Dehradun 4 April: BJP today has termed the ‘indecent ‘remarks made by Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala on BJP leader and actor Hema Malini as a poor mentality of Congress towards women. Addressing a press conference at the BJP’s Election Media Centre here today, a team of BJP’s women spokespersons under the leadership of Mahila Morcha President Asha Nautiyal accused the Congress of regularly indulging in insult of women power.
Mahila Morcha State President Asha Nautiyal strongly condemned the indecent remarks made on BJP’s candidate from Mathura Lok Sabha constituency and actor Hema Malini by Congress leader Randeep Surjewala as an evidence of poor mentality of the Congress leaders. Nautiyal and BJP leader Neha Joshi who is currently National Vice President of Mahila Morcha and other women spokespersons cited a number of similar incidents where the Congress leaders had “insulted” women. They said that Surjewala’s highly objectionable remarks about Hema Malini shows his and his party’s real character. Nautiyal and Neha Joshi, spokespersons Honey Pathak, Sunita Vidyarthi, Kamlesh Raman described the insult of women power by Congress National Spokesperson Randeep Surjewala as grossly insulting to women. They claimed that women are not respected in Congress and Nari Shakti will never forgive them for this insult.
Nautiyal has described the mentality of the Congress party as anti-women and insulting women power. She also cited another recent example when BJP’s candidate from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh and actor Kangana Ranaut was also insulted by Congress leaders including by Supriya Srinet. She said that the Congress Party is repeatedly insulting women power and for this, the Congress Party will have to bear the brunt of it in the Lok Sabha elections. Nautiyal claimed that Congress does not even consider the women workers of its party worthy of elections and also continuously insults the women power. The leaders of the Congress Party are extremely disappointed and distraught after seeing the defeat in front of them. This is the reason why they are venting their anger on women. The people of the country and the state are not going to tolerate this at any cost.
During this, National Vice President of Mahila Morcha, Neha Joshi said, from the bottom to the top of Congress, all the big leaders have often insulted and exploited women. But, the party’s biggest leader Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra, who gave the slogan ‘ Being a Girl, I can fight’, have not opened their mouths till date. Perhaps this is the reason why the tradition of insulting women continues in Congress after knowing his suggestion. But Uttarakhand, the land of mother power, is not going to forgive them.
Nautiyal alleged that the Congress party has been repeatedly humiliating women and its true face has been revealed. During this period, she mentioned several major incidents of ‘harassment’ of women by Congress leaders. She reminded the incidents involving Congress leaders Karnataka Congress MLA Shamanur Shivashankarappa and reminded that Congress IT Cell member Chirag Patnaik had been arrested on charges of molesting a former colleague. She also reminded that Chirag Patnaik is said to be very close to Congress President Rahul Gandhi. After the complaint was lodged with the police, two women members of the IT cell had resigned from their posts. Recently, a female journalist wrote an article in ‘Daily O’ about how a central minister, a favourite of the media, used to do obscene acts with her during the Congress‘s UPA government. She also claimed that a CD of Congress leader and former Rajya Sabha MP Abhishek Manu Singhvi was released in the market in which he was seen luring a woman lawyer to make her a judge and asserted that despite this, Congress party had stent Abhishek Manu Singhvi to Rajya Sabha. She also cited examples of leaders like Digvijay Singh and Kamal Nath calling them repeat offenders, besides naming Mahipal Maderna and Siddaramaiah and Sriprakash Jaiswal.
Nautiyal and Joshi appealed to the women of Uttarakhand to teach a lesson to the Congress leaders for their anti women mentality.
