Dehradun, 16 Jan: A remarkable confluence of education, talent, and social commitment was witnessed at the Culture Department’s auditorium during the fifth ‘Talent Honours Ceremony’ organised by the Dayitva Foundation Trust. Approximately 270 meritorious students from various schools and colleges were honoured with certificates and shields. Additionally, distinguished individuals who have made outstanding contributions in various fields of society were also felicitated.
The event was presided over by Mohammad Khalid, former Project Director at NHAI, while Dr S. Farooq attended as the Chief Guest.
In his presidential address, Mohammad Khalid stated that today’s students are the nation-builders of tomorrow. He urged the youth to play an active role in the country’s development by embracing education, discipline, and moral values. He emphasised that the participation of youth power is crucial to the nation’s progress.
Chief Guest Dr S Farooq described education as the key to development and stressed that providing higher education to daughters is essential for societal advancement. He appealed to parents to prioritise the education of girl children.
On this occasion, Shahjahan Javed Khan (Superintendent of Police, Traffic Directorate), Mohammad Nasir (former Additional Secretary, Uttarakhand Government), Dr Tanjeem Ali (Finance Director, ITDA, Uttarakhand Government), Ayaz Ahmed (former Head of Department, PWD), RA Khan (Director, Prayag IAS Academy), and Ashu Ahmed (Manager, Dehradun Defence School) also addressed the students.
Dr Tanjeem Ali remarked that success in life comes to those who set clear goals and study with dedication and hard work. The speakers also shared valuable insights on preparing for competitive examinations, building a career, and managing time effectively.
During the event, Mohammad Yusuf, President of the Dayitva Foundation Trust, highlighted the organisation’s activities and objectives while inspiring the students to keep moving forward. Mohammad Shah Nazar successfully conducted the programme.
Haji Yusuf and Haji Iqbal were also present on the occasion. Imran, Md Ikram, Faizan Ahmed, Siraj Ahmed, Yasin Malik, Tausif Khan, Master Abdul Sattar, Abdul Alim Ansari, Mohsin Khan, Arif Khan, and others were present.
Dr S Farooq was honoured for his outstanding contributions to education, social uplift, and public service. Others who were honoured included PPS officer Shahjahan Javed Khan, former Additional Secretary Mohammad Nasir, PCS officer Dr Tanjim Ali, former PWD Head of Department Ayaz Ahmed, RA Khan, Ashu Ahmed, Sheikh Iqbal Hussain, and CA Mohammad Sadat.
