Dehradun, 22 Jul: The Dehradun district administration has been placed on full alert for the monsoon season on the directions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. District Magistrate (DM) Ashish Chauhan is supervising continuous monitoring of weather and disaster‑related situations through the District Emergency Operations Centre (DEOC). Sensitive areas are under special watch to ensure immediate action in case of any emergency.
On the instructions of the DM, Quick Response Teams (QRT) are reported to be keeping track of problems arising in different parts of the district through the control room. The administration has identified vulnerable areas and placed them under close surveillance. For public assistance, helpline numbers 0135‑2626066, 2726066, toll‑free number 1077 and WhatsApp number 7534826066 have been issued. Through these channels, coordination with concerned departments is being strengthened to provide swift solutions to problems such as heavy rainfall, waterlogging and landslides.
Additional District Magistrate (ADM) KK Mishra claimed that the personnel from various departments are working round the clock at the DEOC during the monsoon season, keeping a close watch on the district’s situation. Since 15 June, more than 60 complaints have been registered and all have been resolved promptly through quick action. The control room is also taking cognisance of complaints and problems received through helpline numbers issued at the tehsil level, ensuring necessary action. The objective of the district administration is to provide immediate relief and assistance to the public in any emergency during the monsoon.
Mishra also stated that under the guidance of the CM and the leadership of the DM, meetings have already been held with officials of all departments and municipal bodies to address complaints arising during the monsoon. He said that during red alerts of heavy rainfall, QRT teams remain in active mode while the disaster control room functions 24 hours a day. Officers from different departments concerned have been deployed as in‑charge at the control room to ensure effective coordination in resolving public grievances.
