Dehradun Nagar Nigam officials meet representatives of UNDP India and Waste Warriors Society to discuss “Plastic Recycling Management Programme”

DEHRADUN, 1 Feb: Municipal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey and other officials of Dehradun Nagar Nigam held a meeting with representatives of United Nations Development Program India, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd., and Dehradun-based Waste Warriors Society.
The representatives present at the meeting included Vinay Shankar Pandey, Municipal Commissioner, Dehradun Nagar Nigam, Neeraj Joshi, Additional Municipal Commissioner, Dehradun Nagar Nigam, Dr. Kailash Joshi, Senior Health Officer, Dehradun Nagar Nigam, Dr. R. K. Singh, Health Officer, Dehradun Nagar Nigam, Shri Krishna, UNDP Project Manager, Srikanth S, Manager PAC, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd, M Avinash Pratap Singh, Chief Operations Officer, Waste Warriors Society. Naveen Kumar Sadana, Outreach & Partnerships Manager, Waste Warriors Society.
The meeting was regarding the waste management efforts being undertaken in Dehradun under the UNDP & HCCBPL “Plastic Recycling Management Programme”, being implemented in Dehradun by Waste Warriors Society, a solid waste management NGO. Representatives discussed the planning of the programme in Dehradun, as well as the machines, land, and any other assistance needed for the success of the programme.
The initial phase will be implemented in 10 wards of the city, with further expansion into other parts of Dehradun as the plastic recycling management programme grows. It is hoped that such programmes will improve the waste management of Dehradun and bring good solutions to solving the waste problems.
