Dhami discusses Winter Darshan Yatra with Char Dham Teertha Purohits

Dehradun, 12 Dec: Members of Uttarakhand Chardham Teertha Purohit Mahapanchayat and Panda Pujaris called on Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Secretariat here today. They expressed their gratitude to the CM for the innovative initiative of the winter Darshan Yatra in Char Dhams and invited him to the inauguration of the winter yatra starting on 16 December.

The CM emphasised that the successful conduct of the winter Char Dham Yatra would require generous cooperation from the Char Dham Teertha Purohit Maha Panchayat and all related institutions and organisations. He instructed officers concerned to ensure all necessary arrangements for the yatra, which is expected to boost the state’s economy and provide employment opportunities to local people. Instructions were also issued to develop major pilgrimage and tourist places around the winter yatra shrines of the four Dhams, as well as to ensure smooth traffic and effective parking arrangements on the Char Dham Yatra routes.

The Maha Panchayat and Panda Pujaris shared information with Dhami about the winter worship arrangements after the portals of the four Dhams Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath closed for the winters. It was reiterated that worship of Goddess Yamuna is conducted at Kharsali (Khushi Math), Goddess Ganga at Mukhwa (Mukhimath), Kedarnath at Omkareshwar Temple, Ukhimath, and Uddhav and Kuber at Pandukeshwar and the Narasimha Temple of Jyotirmath. They requested the Chief Minister to publicise the winter worship sites of the four Dhams in a grand manner and provide basic facilities at these locations.

Present at the meeting were the Chairman of the Chardham Maha Panchayat and Secretary of Gangotri Temple Committee, Suresh Semwal; General Secretary of the Mahapanchayat, Brijesh Sati; Media Incharge, Rajnikanth Semwal; Ganga Priest Sabha President, Sanjeev Semwal; Nikhlesh Semwal; Anirudh Uniyal; Jagmohan Uniyal; Umesh Sati; Prashant Dimri and others.
