Leading entrepreneur, social reformist, philanthropist and film presenter Dr Raju Chadha, Chairman Wave Group partnered with the highly coveted Devi Awards in the capital city yesterday on 13th November. Held at the ITC Maurya Hotel and presented by Satyapal Singh, Minister of State for Human Resource Development & former Mumbai Commisisoner, the Devi Awards celebrated the dynamism and innovation of women achievers from varied fields.
A brainchild of prominent journalist Prabhu Chawla, the awards saw a turnout of top corporate honchos, media professionals, bureaucrats & achievers from diverse arenas. “It’s a privilege to honour women achievers here today and I applaud them for their achievements. I wish and hope for more power to women,” said Dr Chadha at the event.
He was also accompanied by his wife Donna, daughter Tanya and filmmaker and CEO Wave Cinemas Rahul Mittra. The winners included jail superintendent Anju Mangla, IPS officer Aparajita Rai, international canoeist and coach Bilquis Mir, art collector Kiran Nadar, craft revivalist Madhu Jain, social activist Rita Sarin, actor activist Shilpi Marwaha, environmentalist Tsering Chondol, bureaucrat Vijaya Jadhav and entrepreneur Suchita Salwan.
