Dehradun, 5 May: The All India Conference of Intellectuals (AICOI) successfully hosted its 47th Annual Celebration at the Multipurpose Hall, Subharti University, here, marking yet another milestone in its legacy of recognising national and regional excellence in Indian citizens.
This year’s celebration saw the distribution of the Pan India Honour, The Great Son of India, The Great Daughter of India, and the State Honour, Uttarakhand Ratan Award. Themed – Humanism, Nationalism, and Peace, the event brought together a diverse array of luminaries, change-makers and intellectuals from across the country. The highlight of the event was the felicitation of individuals who have rendered exceptional service in various fields.
The event was formally inaugurated through lamp lighting by Justice Rajesh Tandon, former Judge of the Uttarakhand High Court at Nainital. He was joined by RS Meena, retired IPS officer, Member of the UK Human Rights Commission; Himanshu Aeran, Vice Chancellor, Subharti University, and Dr S Farooq of Himalaya Wellness Company.
Among the notable Guests of Honour were Dr Afrozul Haq, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Manipur International University, Imphal; Deo Dutt Sharma, former Commissioner, Meerut; Dr Atul Krishna of Subharti University; and Dr M Madhu, Director, Soil & Water Conservation, Dehradun.
The Great Son of Soil Award was presented to Dr S Farooq, acknowledging his extensive social and professional work. Uttarakhand Ratan Award was presented to several distinguished personalities- Aneesh Virmani, Franchise Owner Romeo Lane, Dehradun; Krishman Singh, DGM, Navin Jindal Foundation; Dr Jyoti Srivastava; Dr M Amir, Consultant; Prof Afzal Manglori, Poet, Uttarakhand; Mukesh Thakur, ASP, Police, Sanchar Department, Dehradun; Yash Vardhan, Social Activist; Dr Narender Kumar, DG, FRI; Purshottam Bhatt, Social Activist, Dehradun; Dr RS Bisht, Additional Director, Medical Education, Doon Medical College; and Dr Sarveshwari Nautiyal, MD, Kishori Foundation.
Present on the occasion were former Member of State Planning, Aman Agarwal, Secretary, AICOI, JP Group; Sandeep Singhal, President, Shyaam Seva Charitable Trust, Dehradun; Prof Dr KK Rattu, former DDG, and other dignitaries.
