Dehradun, 15 Aug: The special intensive revision (SIR) campaign of the electoral roll conducted over the past month has been completed for Dehradun district and the draft roll was published on 14 July. District Magistrate and District Election Officer Ashish Chauhan convened a meeting here today with the representatives of recognised political parties, where he handed over hard and soft copies of the draft roll, ASD voters list, the service voters list and the polling station details. He appealed to all the parties to immediately bring any discrepancies or errors to the notice of the administration at the earliest.
According to the published draft roll, Dehradun district has 11,90,805 registered voters, including 9,369 service voters and 10,130 voters with disabilities. The number of polling stations has risen from 1,882 to 2,045 following new approvals. Chauhan informed that photo‑based rolls, service voter lists and records of absent, shifted, deceased and duplicate voters have been provided to political parties for all ten assembly constituencies. Electoral registration officers and assistant registration officers have already been deployed in each constituency.
The District Election Officer also stated that citizens whose names are missing from the roll or who need corrections can file claims and objections between 14 July and 13 August 2026. Applications may be submitted to the nearest voter registration officer, assistant registration officer or BLO, and can also be filed online through the Election Commission’s website or mobile app. All the objections will be settled by 11 September 2026 and the final electoral roll will be published on 15 September 2026.
Chauhan urged the political parties to appoint booth level agents (BLA‑2) at the earliest, noting their crucial role in the revision programme. He pointed out that the BJP is yet to appoint agents at 35 booths, the Cong is yet to appoint BLAs for 103 booths and CPI(M) for 1,394 booths, while the BSP and the AAP have not appointed any agents so far.
Among those present at the meeting were Deputy District Election Officer Abhinav Shah, ADM (Revenue) KK Mishra, Assistant District Election Officer Narendra Prasad Devli, Jasvinder Singh from Congress, Mahesh Gupta from BJP, Satyapal from BSP, Kamal Rana from AAP, Ravindra Kumar Naudiyal from CPI(M) and other party representatives.
