Dehradun 7 Aug: The BJP has expressed its gratitude to PM Modi for the assurance of central help to deal with the damage caused by the disaster in the state. BJP MLA from Rajpur Road Khajan Das and the party’s chief spokesperson Suresh Joshi, while interacting informally with the media at the BJP State Headquarters here, today, lavishly praised Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and the administration for saving thousands of people safely through efficient disaster management.
Khajan Das said that Uttarakhand is highly prone to natural disasters like rain, hailstorm, landslides, waterlogging, floods, etc. But the vigour, seriousness, sensitivity and activism with which CM Dhami has done the work of disaster management is commendable. For this, expressing gratitude on behalf of the people of the state, he said that the safe return of the passengers has boosted the image of the state. He said that, even before this, in case of every major disaster in the recent past, CM Dhami has stood firmly with the people and monitored rescue and relief operations.
Das reminded that CM Dhami has led the rescue missions on the front foot in case of forest fires this summer and earlier in saving 41 workers trapped in Silkyara Tunnel in Uttarkashi. At the same time, his efforts to alleviate the sufferings of the people in Joshimath were also unique. This is the reason why, today, every Uttarakhand resident and tourist coming here feels safe and successful.
The Party’s state spokesperson Suresh Joshi said that during disasters in the state, chaos often prevails in the mountainous areas, but this time, one can definitely say that the way the Chief Minister operated the disaster management units and the way he kept the all the districts on alert is very laudable. This has resulted in minimising the damage caused by the disaster.
Joshi also praised the Meteorological Department for its timely alerts about rains, hail, landslides, etc. He added that thousands of pilgrims were trapped in Kedar Valley and the state was successful in evacuating all of them safely. He congratulated Chief Minister Dhami and his team on behalf of BJP for minimising the losses caused by disaster incidents through better management. He also reminded that the CM has urged the Centre to provide relief from the disaster. He also expressed gratitude to the PM for assuring all possible help in this regard.
