Dehradun, 6 Apr: State Level Coordinator for Oil Companies in Uttarakhand, Krishna Kumar Gupta today claimed that all efforts would be made to ensure adequate LPG supply to Uttarakhand for the Char Dham Yatra. Addressing the media here today, Gupta admitted that the state government has asked the Centre for a special quota of LPG to Uttarakhand in view of Char Dham Yatra in anticipation of surge in demand. The Oil Company officials in coordination with the state government, have conveyed the projected requirement of LPG and allied petroleum products to the Union Government, keeping in mind the sharp increase in consumption during the annual pilgrimage season, which witnesses a substantial influx of devotees.

Gupta stated that the anticipated requirement of gas and petrol has been estimated based on the past data as the Yatra is held every year and taking into account additional surge that can be expected in number of pilgrims to Char Dham Yatra.

The state administration has also indicated that it is maintaining close coordination with central agencies and oil marketing companies to ensure that supply chains remain robust, particularly in high-altitude and remote areas along the Yatra route. Given the logistical challenges posed by terrain and weather conditions in the hill districts, efforts are being made to streamline transportation and distribution mechanisms well in advance.
