MUSSOORIE, 16 Nov: The Student Council for the academic year 2024 was recognized for dedicated service in executing their responsibilities, at the Award Ceremony on Saturday at St George’s College.
The Chief Guest for the occasion, Anamika (IAS), Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Mussoorie, was formally introduced by Juhi Sabharwal and presented with a potted plant as a token of appreciation. Also present on the occasion were parents of the students being awarded and other guests.
The programme began with a prayer offered by Shaurya Gupta after which the ceremonial lamp of prayer was lit by the Chief Guest Anamika, Principal, Brother Ramesh Amalanathan and Vice-Principal and Sports Secretary, Brother Felix Kumar.
The Office Bearers, namely, Mayank Kumar, Pranav Taneja, Pradyun Singh, Aditya Sawhney, Vaibhav Joshi, Madhav Ramesh, Priyanshu Kedia, Parv Rai Sardana, Rio Julius Gonsalves, Shreshth Bansal, Aaditya Jain, Parth Gaba, Bisman Kaur, Kripanayudh Choudhury and Yuvraj Singh, were felicitated by the Chief Guest.
St George’s College also celebrated an early Christmas and ushered in the festive season with a grandly colourful programme that presented the Nativity Story, explaining the significance of Christmas – the season of love, generosity, gratitude and compassion. A splendid rendition of a vast variety of Christmas carols was also presented by the school choir.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest Anamika congratulated the office bearers on their diligent effort throughout the year and applauded the students who had participated in the Christmas programme. She said that the students are in good hands and they must avail of every opportunity to excel. She further said that it is important to imbibe the values and principles of the institution.
Brother Amalanathan thanked the Staff and the students, making special mention of the School Choir in his address.
The Felicitation of the Student Council 2024 & Christmas Programme concluded successfully under the supervision of Brother Ramesh Amalanathan, Brother Felix Kumar, Veronica Menezes (English Faculty), Deepali Ballabh (Cultural Coordinator), Mark Gonsalves (Senior School Coordinator), Bhavnesh Negi and Praveen Gusain (Estate Manager).
