Dehradun, 19 Sep: The School of Applied and Life Sciences (SALS), Uttaranchal University, celebrated Forensic Science Day – “GAWAH” – with innovation and academic fervour. The event was inaugurated by the President of the University, Jitender Joshi, along with Ankita Joshi (Vice President), Prof (Dr) Abhishek Joshi (Executive Director, Student Affairs & IT Services) and Prof (Dr) Ajay Singh (Director- SALS).
The inaugural session commenced with Lamp Lighting and speeches by Vice Chancellor (Prof Dharam Buddhi), Pro Vice Chancellor (Prof Rajesh Bahuguna) and Prof (Dr) Ajay Singh (Director- SALS), followed by a soulful Ganesh Vandana.
The day unfolded with a diverse itinerary that showcased the blend of science, creativity, and critical thinking: – Fatal Walk – The Forensic Ramp offered a unique portrayal of forensic themes through fashion.
Courtroom Chronicles – Skit Performance depicted the essence of justice and courtroom dynamics under the guidance of Devesh Tiwari.
Raktcharit – Forensic Tales of Blood, coordinated by Muskan Gupta, brought scientific perspectives to life with artistic storytelling. Mind & Crime – Poster/3D Model Showcase & Escape Room (Inter-College Competition), mentored by Monika Bharti and Areeba Ansari, witnessed enthusiastic participation and innovative displays.
Scene Decode – Unravel the Crime Mystery, led by Himanshu Saurabh, tested the analytical acumen of participants in solving a simulated crime.
The event concluded with a Valedictory Session, Prize Distribution, and Vote of Thanks, marking a successful culmination of the day’s proceedings.
Those present included Director, DRI, Dr Rajesh Singh, HOD, SALS, Dr VK Srivastava, Dr Nishesh Sharma, Dr. Shivam Pandey, along with faculty members and students.
The event coordination was spearheaded by Muskan Gupta (Assistant Professor, Forensic Science), whose efforts ensured the seamless execution of each segment.
