Gov inaugurates ‘University Connect Uttarakhand’ App

Dehradun, 10 May: Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) on Wednesday at the Raj Bhavan, here, inaugurated the mobile app, “University Connect Uttarakhand”, prepared by Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technological University (UTU) for the universities of the state.

Through this mobile app, all the state universities of Uttarakhand have been connected with the Raj Bhavan on one platform. The universities will share their achievements, best practices, programmes, subject-experts, information, startups, research and development through online communication with Raj Bhavan.
On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor Prof Onkar Singh, gave a presentation on the operation of all the courses of the university for the academic session 2022-23, and the process of complete digitisation in the university through the “University Management System”, which is in progress. He apprised the Chancellor/Governor about the system of showing the evaluated answer sheets to the students so as to bring complete transparency in the examinations of all the courses conducted by the university under it.
The Vice-Chancellor gave a presentation on the facilities of the Attendance Management System prepared by the University to monitor the smooth functioning of the academic programmes of the students studying in the affiliated institutions. He said that, along with the students, their parents have also been provided the facility to get complete details of attendance through the student’s roll number and date of birth on the university’s website. In the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor made a presentation about the transparency and accountability coming in the examination system by the digitisation of question papers, digitisation of answer sheets and on-screen evaluation and display of evaluated answer sheets in the January-February, 2023 examinations by UTU.
Lt-General Singh congratulated Omkar Singh and his entire team. He said that the pioneering role played by UTU in digitization was a model for other universities.

On this occasion, Vice Chancellor, Sridev Suman University, Prof NK Joshi, and Vice Chancellor, Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Uttarakhand Horticulture and Forestry University, Dr P Kaushal also presented the works and future plans of their institutions.
Present on this occasion were Secretary to Governor Ravinath Raman, Legal Advisor Amit Kumar Sirohi, Additional Secretary Swati S Bhadauria, Deputy Secretary NK Pokhriyal, Section Officer Sachin Chamoli and, virtually, all the Vice Chancellors of the State University.
