Dehradun, 14 Jul: Governor Lt-General Gurmit Singh (Retd), during his Gujarat journey, visited the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Memorial in Ahmedabad. This memorial presents the life and works of Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. A new walk-in exhibit has been put up in the basement of the memorial, which gives visitors an insight into the personality of the Sardar and his journey from a satyagrahi to a national leader and statesman.
Governor Singh said this memorial will educate the people about the work done by Sardar Patel for the nation. The youth would be inspired by his personality and follow his ideals.
He also visited the Amul Co-Operative Dairy in Anand. He visited the Amul Dairy and Amul Chocolate Plant. Ram Singh Parmar, President, Amul Dairy informed him about the various activities and new initiatives taken in the field of Animal Husbandry and Dairying.
The Governor was impressed by the state-of-the-art technology used by Amul in manufacturing high quality products. He said that innovative technology is being used by Amul which is commendable. He advocated a similar initiative in Uttarakhand.
