Dehradun, 14 Aug: The “Char Dham Dashboard”, developed by the ITDA for efficient and effective management of the Char Dham Yatra, was demonstrated by ITDA Director Nitika Khandelwal to Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) at the Raj Bhavan, here, today.
This dashboard has been created to enhance coordination between various departments and to improve the management of the Char Dham Yatra, including aspects such as pilgrim registration, screening, travel route conditions, accommodation and essential facilities, and timely availability of health services. The Governor had previously instructed the ITDA Director to develop a digital monitoring system for the entire journey, and, in compliance, the real-time monitoring Char Dham Dashboard has been prepared. The Director updated the Governor on the progress from the previous presentation to the present.
The Governor congratulated and commended the ITDA Director and her team for developing the dashboard. He noted that the integration of travel-related departments through technology and digitisation will facilitate better planning and smoother operations in the future, providing greater convenience to the pilgrims. He remarked that the dashboard will aid decision-makers in effective management and operation of the journey.
The Governor appreciated the ITDA’s initiative in creating dashboards for various departments, which will enhance accountability and efficiency. He emphasised the need to introduce a new work culture using technology, which aligns with current demands. The dashboard culture will promote effective coordination between departments and eliminate tendencies of working in isolation. It is worth noting that the ITDA is also preparing the CM Dashboard, Disaster Management Dashboard, and Char Dham Dashboard.
Present at the event were Secretary Nitesh Jha, Secretary Ravinath Raman, and other ITDA officials.
