MUSSOORIE, May 2: The Governor, Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd), attended the closing ceremony of the 32nd Joint Civil-Military Training Programme as the Chief Guest at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie, on Friday. The 12-day training programme saw participation from 82 senior officers representing 31 different services and institutions across the country, including 14 women officers.
Addressing the concluding session, the Governor emphasized that stronger coordination between civil administration and the armed forces is essential to reinforce national security and effectively tackle future challenges. He stated that unity and synergy are our greatest strengths and must be strengthened at every level.
The Governor remarked that civil-military coordination is an impenetrable shield of national strength. When the courage of a soldier combines with the strategic capability of an administrator, it gives new direction to the nation’s security and progress. He congratulated all the officers who completed the training and described the programme as highly significant and beneficial.
He further noted that the relevance of civil-military coordination has increased in the 21st century. To achieve the goal of “Viksit Bharat 2047,” building a secure and stable nation is essential. He added that development plans can be effectively implemented and reach the last mile only when internal and external security are strong.
Lt Gen Singh also stated that India is rapidly moving towards self-reliance and promoting indigenization in the defense sector. He remarked that India is no longer just a reactive nation but is emerging as a country that provides direction at the global level.
Encouraging officers to make coordination, communication, and connectivity an integral part of their working style, the Governor said that the relationships built during the training will play an important role in the future.
During the programme, the Governor also presented awards to the best participants in various activities conducted during the training. The event was attended by Director Sriram Taranikanti, Joint Director Shanmukh Priya Mishra, Course Coordinator D Mahesh, and officers from various services.
