Grand inauguration of ‘Tehri Kitab Kauthig’

NEW TEHRI, 20 July: The 2-day ‘Kitab Kauthig’ was inaugurated by Tehri MLA Kishore Upadhyay, social worker Vijay Jardhari, Padma Shri awardees Basanti Bisht and Madhuri Badthwal and senior journalist Charu Tiwari at Nagar Palika Auditorium, Bouradi. The program coordinators Hem Pant and Dayal Pandey said that after nine successful events, this is happening for the first time in Garhwal Mandal in which 50 thousand books of about 60 publishers are available for viewing and sale. People showed great interest in the books available in various genres including science, world literature, religion – spirituality, popular literature. Apart from books, the science corner and handicraft stalls of Uttarakhand artists also remained the center of attraction.

The entire team of Nagrik Manch, Vyapar Sangh, Maiti Milan Parivar and students of all schools participated in large numbers along with the general public. MLA Kishore Upadhyay, Dr SP Sati and Suresh Nautiyal expressed their views on the topic “Himalaya in danger”.

a general talk on the RTI, and also addressed
the questions raised by some participants.

In the second session, Thakur Bhawani Pratap Panwar, Mahipal Negi and Charu Tiwari presented their views on “Tehri’s past and present”. After this, Manohar Chamoli ‘Manu’, Dr Ankita Bora and Dr Sushil Kotanala participated in “Contribution of Uttarakhand’s writers in Hindi literature”. Chief Information Commissioner Yogesh Bhatt discussed “Right to Information”. Madhuri Badthwal and Basanti Bisht presented  “Fundamentals of Uttarakhand’s folk music”.

In the evening session, famous folk singers Ghuguti Jagar Team, Surganga and local artists forced the audience to dance on their songs.
