Dehradun, 21 Dec: The “Kasturi Winter Kauthig 2024″ organized by the Kasturi Organization was grandly inaugurated on Old Mussoorie Road, Rajlpur on Saturday. The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, the First Lady Gurmeet Kaur. She toured the various stalls at the festival and appreciated the products displayed by local women’s groups, artisans, and women entrepreneurs.

The program aims to promote traditional agricultural, woodcraft, and handicraft products of Uttarakhand created by producer groups formed in forest panchayats and reserved forest areas through the Kasturi Organization. The purpose of this platform is to make these products accessible to urban consumers. Various stalls at the festival displayed traditional products created by these producer groups, showcasing Uttarakhand’s rich cultural and handicraft heritage.

In her address, the First Lady emphasized that this festival serves as an important platform for promoting Uttarakhand’s folk culture, women’s empowerment, and recognition of local products. She praised the efforts of self-help groups and women entrepreneurs, encouraging them further. She stated that such events not only strengthen cultural identity but also provide economic empowerment opportunities for local people. She also lauded the women of Uttarakhand, calling them the backbone of the state’s economy.
The event saw participation from many women, including Anjali Neena Grewal, Shivani Patnaik, and Neelima Shah.
