Mussoorie, 14 May: The annual Investiture Ceremony for the year 2019-2020 was held at the Oak Grove School auditorium. The student council of fifty-two members was vested with various responsibilities for the new session. The appointment of the deserving students was made keeping in mind, their leadership qualities, reliability, consistency and their performance in various academic and other related fields. They were also judged on their character and communication skills.
The Chief Guest on the occasion was JP Pandey, Principal, Oak Grove School. The proceedings began with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest. The programme began with the recital of “Saraswati Vandana”, followed by the singing of the school song by the students of Junior School.
Thereafter, the Chief Guest vested the newly appointed council members with the badges, sashes and flag. The prefects were led by the Boys’ School Captain and Vice Captain, Vipul Rana, and Mridul Krishna Garv, respectively, Girls’ School Captain and Vice Captain, Ishita and Pallavi Mehra, respectively, Junior school Captain (Girls’ section) Sneh Ranjan and Junior school Captain (Boys’ section) D Kashish, ,Junior School Games Captain (Boys’ Section) Aashish Kumar and Meemansha Vibhuti, Games Captain (Girls’ Section), respectively.
Jatin Yadav and Sonlai were selected as Sports Captain of Boys’ and Girls’ sections, respectively. All the selected students took the oath of sincerity, honesty and loyalty to the institution and their duty. They also vowed to fulfill the duties and responsibilities bestowed upon them in good faith. Principal JP Pandey administered the oath of office to the respective members.
The selection process for electing the Students’ Council was held on 22 April, in which the entire academic staff cast their votes through a traditional election process.
Principal Pandey said, “I advise them to be able leaders by developing leadership qualities. The ability to overcome challenges, a resilient attitude and dedication are the true qualities of a successful leader.” The vote of thanks was proposed by Anupam Singh.
The ceremony was witnessed by Sanju Pandey, Dr Sanjay Dube, Head Master, Oak Grove Boys’ School, Rekha Sangal, Head Mistress, Oak Grove Senior Girls’ School, Anand Kumar, Head Master, Oak Grove Junior School, Anjali Dube, Vinay Kumar, Dr Atul Kumar Saxena, Kusum Kamboj, Anuradha Sharma, Vipul Rawat, Manisha Sharma, Archana Shankar, Nidhi Saxena, Kanchan Sharma, Santosh Kumar, Pratyesh Kumar, GD Raturi and other faculty members of the school.
