Dehradun, 12 July: Sparsh Himalaya University has awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) to Dr Kamal Kumar Lal from the Department of Library & Information Science.
Dr Lal carried out his doctoral research under the supervision of Prof Rajesh Kumar Singh. The title of his thesis is “Mapping of Research Productivity in Private Universities in Uttarakhand: A Scientometric Study.”
The research examines the scholarly productivity of private universities in Uttarakhand through scientometric analysis, focusing on research publications, citation patterns, collaboration networks, and institutional research performance. It highlights that research productivity in private universities is measured by the scholarly output of faculty and institutions in terms of publications, research grants, and patents. The study also emphasises how these universities strive to balance teaching responsibilities with research excellence by promoting collaborative research, strengthening institutional support, and adopting strategic initiatives to enhance their national and global academic rankings.
The successful completion of this research marks a significant academic achievement and contributes valuable insights to the field of Library & Information Science, particularly in the assessment of research performance in higher education institutions.
