Dehradun, 13 Aug: Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya has dismissed Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s allegations levelled today as a white lie, describing them as politically motivated attempts to divide Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. She claimed that Kharge has tried to tarnish the image of Uttarakhand in Parliament by linking the Haldwani incident with divisive politics, even though he was aware that the narrative is being created to deflect attention from Congress’s failed rally, the disorderly conduct of its leaders and the embarrassment caused by religious slogans raised during the event.

Speaking to the media, Arya clarified that neither the BJP nor the government have any connection with the so‑called religious programme held two days after the rally. The organisers themselves had explained the purpose of their event to the media at the time. Arya also reminded that several participants in the purification exercise belonged to Scheduled Castes and Other Backward Classes. Despite this, Congress leaders, encouraged by their high command, are spreading lies, rumours and confusion to pursue a policy of division, targeting the Sanatan traditions in particular. She alleged that the rally had flopped in terms of numbers, and to cover up this failure before the leadership, Congress leaders have resorted to creating chaos and misconduct in administrative offices. To escape the public embarrassment, they are now playing the caste card.

Arya expressed concern that the president of a national party has raised the issue in Parliament contrary to the facts, which she said is alarming and not in the interest of society. She questioned whether such falsehoods, aimed at political gain, are not damaging the atmosphere of the state and harming its image. She asked whether this is not an attempt to break the fabric of harmony and inclusiveness among the people of Devbhoomi, and whether Congress is not trying to divide the Sanatan Dharma itself. She commented that it is deeply unfortunate if Kharge himself is knowingly speaking untruths, and if he has been misled by his leaders, that too is regrettable.

Arya asserted that the people of Devbhoomi would once again reject such divisive politics outright, as they had always done. She added that the conspiracy being hatched by Congress with an eye on the 2027 elections would be decisively defeated, with voters ensuring a record victory for the lotus.
