Dehradun, 16 Aug: DK Sen, father of Lakshya Sen, who won a Gold Medal in the Badminton competition at the Commonwealth Games, called on Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at his official residence late last evening. The Chief Minister congratulated Lakshya Sen over the phone on winning the gold medal and said that Lakshya owed this success also to the hard-work and dedication of his parents.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister congratulated Lakshya on winning the gold medal and wished him a bright future. The Chief Minister said that Lakshya had brought laurels not only to the country but also Uttarakhand with his sports talent. The Chief Minister told Lakshya that he ought to move forward with determination and that the sky is the limit for him and that he ought to touch the sky and not get bogged down. The CM reminded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi also inspired the players to break their own records regularly. The Chief Minister added that Lakshya Sen’s success is also a result of the austerity of his parents. In his last meeting with Lakshya Sen, the CM had invited the ace badminton player to visit after the championship. Sen belongs to Almora, although he has been living in Roorkee for some years now.
