Dehradun, 6 May: A grand three-day Inter-School Literary Festival was successfully organised at The TonsBridge School from 4 to 6 May, with great enthusiasm and excitement. Students from various schools across Dehradun actively participated in the event and showcased their exceptional talents.

The programme commenced on the first day with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, RK Mishra, and Ganesh Vandana. School Chairman Vijay Nagar, Managing Director Poras Nagar, Director Shailendra Benjamin, and Principal Roopa Gosain were present on the occasion.

Over the course of three days, a variety of competitions and creative activities were organised, including quiz competitions, web designing, digital poster making, face painting, photography, canvas painting, fabric fusion, music, dance, poetry recitation, debate (“Engaging Minds”), and several other artistic events. More than 25 schools participated enthusiastically in these competitions.

The highlight of the first day was the “Ignited Minds” Quiz Competition, conducted by KK Sharma. Participants displayed remarkable creativity and innovation in various art and technical competitions.

On the second day, the “Engaging Minds” Debate Competition was held on the theme of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 2030). Participants impressed the judges with their logical arguments and impactful presentations. In addition, students presented street plays based on SDG 3 and SDG 14, spreading awareness about important social issues. The “Sur Sanchay” music competition and colourful dance performances further enhanced the charm of the event.

The third day featured “Sahitya Sangam-2026,” which included poetry recitation and the “Nritya Sanchay” dance competition. Students beautifully presented diverse dimensions of literature, art, and culture through their performances.

The Chief Guest, Amit Kumar Sirohi, in his address, described literature as the mirror of society and encouraged students to embrace creativity and develop reading habits. Chairman Vijay Nagar and The Director, Shailendra Benjamin also motivated students to understand the importance of goal-setting, discipline, and continuous effort in life.

The primary objective of the event was to create awareness among students about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). During the programme, Director Shailendra Benjamin addressed the students and provided detailed information about all the SDG goals. He encouraged students to take positive steps toward achieving sustainable development and to adopt these values in their daily lives.

Various schools delivered outstanding performances throughout the three-day festival. Based on overall performance, The TonsBridge School won the overall championship trophy of the Inter-School Literary Festival. However, since the school itself was the host institution, the trophy was awarded to St Jude’s School.

At the closing ceremony, all winners were felicitated and awarded prizes to encourage their efforts. The school management also expressed gratitude to all guests, judges, and participants for making the event successful.
