DEHRADUN, 4 Aug: Director, CBRI, Roorkee, Dr R Pradeep, Commandant, BEG, Roorkee, Brigadier Rajesh Singh, IIT Roorkee Professor Akshay Dwivedi and Superintending Engineer, IRI, Ramesh Chandra Gupta called on Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) today at the Raj Bhavan, here.

On this occasion, the Governor discussed with the officials the “Heritage and Integrated Development Programme” to be organised at IIT Roorkee.

Governor Singh said that an Investors’ Summit is proposed to be held in Uttarakhand in December, which would be very important from the point of view of increasing investment and employment in the state. The “Heritage and Integrated Development Programme” will be organised in Roorkee in September before the Investors’ Summit. He said that Roorkee City holds special importance because of the IIT, Railways, Transport, Electricity, Irrigation Canal, Industry, etc. Such a programme would be important for the Investors’ Summit.

The Governor directed the officers of all the institutions to make necessary preparations.
