Dehradun, 25 Aug: BJP has sharply criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s remarks on Manusmriti, alleging that he is attempting to create a negative image of Sanatan Dharma before the younger generation. State BJP president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt claimed that Rahul Gandhi is neither Hindu by birth nor by conduct and accused him of repeatedly insulting Sanatan only to appease a particular section of society. He remarked that even several lifetimes would not suffice for Rahul to understand the depth of Hindu scriptures.
Bhatt expressed outrage in a media statement issued today, asserting that the Congress and its leaders consistently target Hindu faith and Indian culture, from denying the existence of Lord Ram to opposing the construction of the Ram temple. He noted that Congress leaders have described Sanatan as more dangerous than diseases like corona and dengue, yet the people have rejected such views in every election. He accused Gandhi of now trying to mislead the youth with objectionable comments made during his student interaction in Pune.
Bhatt questioned why Rahul Gandhi attacks Hindu texts alone while ignoring practices in other religions, claiming this selective criticism is aimed at pleasing his vote bank. He asserted that Gandhi’s propaganda will fail and that Sanatan, cultural and nationalist forces will respond democratically and the voters of Uttarakhand will reject his party in the 2027 assembly polls.
