Dehradun, 21 May: Police have arrested a man who allegedly lured and took a minor girl away from her home, on Wednesday. The girl has been recovered safely from Bihar and handed over to her family. The accused has been identified as, Mukesh Saini, 22, a resident Bihar.
According to the police, a resident of Vasant Vihar had filed a complaint stating that his minor daughter had been taken away by a man named Mukesh Saini. Based on the complaint, a case was registered under Section 137(2) of the BNS at the police station.
The police used CCTV footage from nearby areas and also activated local informants to gather information. After continuous efforts, they found that the accused had taken the girl to Darbhanga, Bihar.
A police team was sent to Bihar, where they worked secretly to trace the location. On May 20, 2025, the team arrested Mukesh Saini and safely rescued the minor girl. She was brought back to Dehradun and handed over to her family.
