Cabinet Meeting today

Dehradun, 17 Jul: An important cabinet meeting will be held tomorrow at the Secretariat here under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. It is after a while that the cabinet meeting is being held. The Cabinet Meeting was not held for some time in view of the Model Code of Conduct in force due to the parliamentary elections. Among other agenda points, the cabinet is likely to also discuss and take a decision regarding the monsoon session of the State Assembly. Indications are that the Monsoon session of the state assembly may be held in the first week of August in Gairsain.
Since the cabinet meeting will be held tomorrow after two continuous holidays, several bureaucrats may have to work overtime to present last minute proposals before the cabinet at 4 p.m. More than a dozen proposals are likely to be taken up for discussion and approval.
Important proposals related to mining, health, medical, education, housing, forest and other departments are likely to come up. In addition, a proposal related to the formation of a Fire Forest Committee under the Forest Department, revised service manual proposal related to employees in all departments, may also be presented for discussion and approval of the cabinet.
A report has been recently submitted on the carrying capacity of the Char Dhams which may also be discussed by the Cabinet. This report has been prepared by IIM Rohtak.
The Education Department is likely to present a proposal regarding creation of a new three-tier structure of the education cadre, a proposal to form the State Allied and Health Care Council to improve the quality of health services and a proposal to build multipurpose halls and sports grounds in all the districts and big cities of the state.
