Motorcycle Expedition flagged off from IMA

DEHRADUN, 16 Sep: The IMA has organised a Motorcycle Expedition from Dehradun to the 3,978 mtr (13,247 ft) high Rohtang Pass in Himachal Pradesh. A team comprising 10 Gentlemen Cadets of the IMA, 2 Cadets of the Army Cadet College, and two Officers, will cover a distance of nearly 1,100 km over six days before returning to the Academy. The team was flagged-off early this morning from the Khetarpal Auditorium of IMA by Brig SK Narain. The team is led by Major Abhinav Singh and Major Sandeep Yadav, both instructors in the IMA. Royal Enfield India have joined hands with IMA by sponsoring the motorcycles for the expedition, providing 12 motorcycles and a team of 3 ‘flying’ technicians. The motorcycles include 350CC Thunderbird, 411CC Himalayan and 500CC Classic models of Royal Enfield. The group of Gentlemen Cadets and Officers will negotiate several exotic locations en-route to the majestic Rohtang Pass, including Paonta Sahib, Nahan, Mandi, Kullu and Manali.
