Haridwar, 28 Apr: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Patanjali University, Haridwar, and Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun, to promote academic and research collaboration, on Monday.

On this occasion, Acharya Balkrishna, Vice Chancellor of Patanjali University, and Prof Omkar Singh, Vice Chancellor of Uttarakhand Technical University, signed the agreement, expressing confidence that this partnership would play a crucial role in preparing students for global competition.

Under the MoU, joint training, research, and development initiatives will be promoted in various sectors — including agriculture — through the integration of Yoga Science, Ayurveda, Naturopathy, Allied and Applied Sciences, as well as Engineering and Technology.

Notably, to disseminate Patanjali University’s agricultural research to farmers, specialised training programmes will be conducted across colleges affiliated with Uttarakhand Technical University.

The collaboration will also focus on organising academic, research, and development activities, conducting skill development and professional training programmes, and promoting technological innovation and entrepreneurship. Furthermore, special efforts will be made to enhance employment opportunities for youth from socially and economically disadvantaged communities.

As part of this bilateral agreement, both universities will jointly design certificate courses, short-term and long-term academic programmes, undertake collaborative research and publications, offer expert consultancy, and organise joint workshops, seminars, and conferences. Additionally, initiatives will include the conduct of joint courses, exchange of study material, hospital management programmes, specialised research studies, and report publications.

Cultural exchanges, sports competitions, and social outreach activities will also form a part of this cooperation. Through student exchange programmes, students will be provided with new opportunities for training, internships, and research.

Present at the MoU signing were Prof Mayank Kumar Agrawal, Pro Vice Chancellor of Patanjali University; Prof Arvind Kumar Singh, Controller of Examinations; along with Dr VK Patel, Registrar and Controller of Examinations; and Vikram Singh Jantwal, Finance Controller of Uttarakhand Technical University, along with other senior officials from both universities. All dignitaries hailed this agreement as a historic initiative in the field of education and research and expressed their commitment to further expanding this collaboration in the future.
