Dehradun, 3 Sep: Municipal Commissioner Namami Bansal carried out a surprise inspection in the Raipur locality this morning, where she discovered a large amount of garbage scattered across the area and found that daily garbage collection was not being executed in a satisfactory manner.
She expressed strong displeasure at witnessing the widespread litter and stated that the state of affairs is extremely serious. She declared that such neglect of sanitation standards would not be tolerated under any circumstances. She remarked that this not only constitutes a clear violation of the municipal directives but also undermines the overall cleanliness system and tarnishes the image of the Municipal Corporation.
Issuing stern warnings, Bansal instructed all the Chief Sanitation Inspectors, the Sanitation Inspectors, and Sanitation Supervisors to ensure prompt and thorough daily collection of garbage. She also made it clear that any recurrence of such negligence in future would result in the concerned officials and that the employees would be held fully accountable. She also warned of action such as withholding of a day’s salary from those at fault. The Dehradun Municipal Corporation further appealed to the residents to cooperate in upholding cleanliness in the city by diligently handing over their waste to municipal vehicles at the prescribed times and she affirmed that collective effort is essential to maintaining Dehradun as a clean and beautiful city.
