National Forest Martyrs’ Day observed at FRI

Dehradun, 11 Sep: To commemorate foresters who had laid down their lives to protect forests and wildlife, National Forest Martyrs’ Day was observed today at Forester Memorial, Brandis Road, Forest Research Institute, here. Dr SC Gairola, Director General, Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education; Arun Singh Rawat, Director, Forest Research Institute; Omkar Singh, Director, Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy; MC Ghildiyal, Secretary, Supreme Court Monitoring Committee; Pankaj Aggarwal, APCCF, Regional Office, Dehradun; Senior Forest officials, scientists and employees of ICFRE & FRI paid floral tribute at the Forester Memorial to honour and remember all men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice for forests and wildlife. National Foresters Martyrs’ Day was also attended by a large number of employees from ICFRE and FRI, IGNFA IFS Probationers, and CASFoS trainees. Two minutes of silence were observed in memory of the martyrs.
