‘Jadi Buti Diwas’ marks birthday celebrations of Acharya Balkrishna

Haridwar, 4 Aug: Patanjali Yogpeeth was abuzz with activities today – the occasion was the 54th birthday of Acharya Balkrishna. Along with Yog Guru Baba Ramdev, Acharya Balkrishna donated blood amidst hundreds of volunteers of the Patanjali Yogpeeth group. A free medical check-up camp was organised in the Yog Bhawan. Lakhs of medicinal herbs were freely distributed across the country from all Patanjali centres on this day.
While free bath and langar sewa continues for Kanwariyas these days in the grounds of the wellness centre, hundreds of sadhus came to give blessings to the duo. Forty books including medicinal encyclopaedias and state-wise compilation of traditional healing systems were released on the day.
On the occasion Acharya Bal Krishna said, “We are determined to make this age-old ancient Ayurveda therapy a Vishwa Chikitsa (world therapy) and not just an alternate therapy. For this, evidence based research is being done on herbal medicines and published in world renowned medical journals with full details.” He said Patanjali started the campaign of distributing medicinal plants three decades ago and the Neem trees growing in Haridwar are a gift of Patanjali to the holy city.
Baba Ramdev said that the Patanjali group has resolved to establish a natural and Ayurvedic system of therapy on the world platform. “What the World Health Organisation has not been able to do, the team of scientists of Patanjali Research Institute has done, building scientific evidence with animal and clinical trials for herbal medicine formulations. Till the last breath we will keep on working to make a Swasth Bharat.
Mufti Sharoom Hashmi advocated the cause undertaken by the duo of cow conservation and Ayurvedic therapeutic system and said the Muslim community is ready to contribute to any extent for the goals undertaken by Baba Ramdev. He said the ancestors of all humans are the same whether one is born in a Hindu, Muslim, Sikh or Christian family.
Baba Ramdev condemned openly the use of intoxicants in any form during the ongoing Kanwar Mela in Haridwar. He said, “Lord Shiva cannot accept the devotion of Kanwariyas if they consume any form of intoxicated substances.” He appealed to everyone to remain free from such vices.
Baba Ramdev also said that casteism had no place in a democracy like India. “Without targeting Sikhism, Jainism, Hinduism, one can talk of developmental issues. In a democratic country like India no one has the right to insult the constitution by talking on the grounds of caste,” restated Ramdev.
